Mr. Franklin received his BA degree from Hobart College in 1965 and was awarded his J.D. degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 1968. Mr. Franklin served as a Captain in the United States Army, Judge Advocate General Corps from 1969 until 1973. He has defended a wide range of cases included products liability claims, premises liability claims, wrongful death and personal injury claims, legal and medical malpractice. He routinely lectures lawyers, physicians, nurses and residents on various subjects relating to medical malpractice and risk prevention.

Mr. Franklin has served as a member of the Fee Arbitration Board of the State Bar of Georgia and is a member of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Savannah Bar Association, and is licensed to practice in Georgia.

Mr. Franklin is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America for the past decade, the 2004 Edition of Georgia Trend as one of Georgia’s Legal Elite and is one of the Top 100 Georgia Super Lawyers for 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 as published in Atlanta Magazine. For 2011, he was named Best Lawyers' Savannah Medical Malpractice Lawyer of the Year.
