Robert W. Schivera, an AV rated attorney, has practiced law in Savannah since 1976 and as a partner with Oliver Maner since 1987. Mr. Schivera is originally from Huntington, New York. |

His areas of specialization include corporate law, including matters relating to corporate finance; federal tax law; estate planning, including wills and trusts; retirement and ERISA law and federal tax litigation.
Mr. Schivera attended The Citadel on an Army R.O.T.C. scholarship where he graduated in 1969 in the top five percent of his class. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University School of Law in 1972. He also holds a Master of Laws degree in Taxation from New York University School of Law. He served four years with the United States Army Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1972 to 1976 and was designated a senior trial lawyer and served as a military magistrate. He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Georgia, the Supreme Court of North Carolina, United States Tax Court and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the North Carolina State Bar and the Savannah Bar Association. He has served as president of the Young Lawyers' Section of the Savannah Bar. He is also a member of the State Bar of Georgia's Section of Fiduciary and Corporate Law and the Savannah Estate Planning Council. He has been a speaker before a number of local organizations on estate planning and other tax subjects.
In addition to his professional organizations, he is a member of the Skidaway Island Kiwanis Club, the Chatham Club, The Landings Club and has served as an officer of the Savannah Quarterback Club, the Savannah Area Citadel Club and St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee. He is Past President and member of the Board of Directors of The Citadel Alumni Association. |
