Douglas J. Giorgio, III is a Partner in the Tax and Corporate Department. His primary areas of practice are corporate law, federal tax law, estate planning and estate administration and probate.

Mr. Giorgio was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and moved with his family at an early age to Savannah. Mr. Giorgio received his B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in Government and Philosophy. While at Notre Dame, Mr. Giorgio was a member of the University’s golf team and was Captain his senior year. Upon graduation, Mr. Giorgio spent the next year in Florida participating in professional golf “mini-tours.”

After a short career as a golf professional, Mr. Giorgio went to Georgia State University and earned a Master of Taxation. Mr. Giorgio worked for Price Waterhouse in Savannah and later as Senior Accountant and a Manager for Coopers & Lybrand in Spartanburg, South Carolina. After working as a certified public account, Mr. Giorgio entered law school.

He attended the University of South Carolina School of Law, where in 2001 he received his Juris Doctorate degree. While at South Carolina, he was on the South Carolina Law Review.

Mr. Giorgio was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in November 2001 and to the Georgia Bar in June 2002.

In 2006, Mr. Giorgio was recognized by the Georgia Super Lawyers Edition of Atlanta Magazine as a rising Star for his accomplishments in the legal profession.
